At the World Grand Prix Photography Award Spring 2026, Jien-Fon Yang received the Silver Award for Intertwined of Two Male Snakes, an image that transforms a fleeting encounter in nature into a striking visual study of movement, instinct, and tension.

Captured unexpectedly during a mountain walk, the photograph documents two male snakes engaged in combat—a rare and intensely focused moment in the wild. Through the intertwined forms of the animals, the image blurs the line between documentary observation and abstract visual rhythm, revealing the dramatic beauty hidden within spontaneous natural encounters.
